Privacy Policy
Wave Digital is committed to protecting and maintaining the privacy of all individuals with whom we deal. We are also committed to complying with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Personal Information is information or an opinion about an individual, or from which the identity of a person is reasonably identifiable. This policy explains how we manage the personal information which we collect, hold, use and disclose. It also explains how to contact us if you have any further queries about our management of your personal information. This policy applies to you only to the extent that the collection and handling of your personal information by us is subject to the Privacy Act.

The type of personal information which we collect and hold includes your contact details such as your name, company name, phone number and email address. We only collect personal information about you in the manner permitted by the Privacy Act. We may collect your personal information from you in a number of ways including in person, by phone, through our website, by email, or advertising lead forms. We may use this information to reach out to you.
Storing your Personal Information
We store this personal information on servers located in Australia. When holding your personal information, we are required by the Privacy Act to take reasonable steps:
- to ensure that your personal information that we collect, hold, use and disclose is accurate, complete and up-to-date;
- to protect your personal information from misuse, interference and loss, as well as from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure; and
- to destroy or permanently de-identify your personal information if we no longer require that information for any purpose that is permitted by the Privacy Act.
Analytics, session and cookie tools
We use a range of tools provided by third parties, including Google and our web hosting company Amazon Web Services, to collect or view website traffic information. These sites have their own privacy policies. We also use cookies and session tools to improve your experience when accessing our website.
The information collected by these tools may include the IP address of the device you are using and information about sites that IP address has come from, the pages accessed on our site and the next site visited. We use the information to maintain, secure and improve our websites and to enhance your experience when using them.
How we use Cookies
We use third-party vendors, including Google and Meta, to analyse website behaviour and show our ads on sites across the Internet. You can understand/inform your choices and opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies by visiting the DAA’s WebChoices Tool.
Google uses cookies to serve the ads based on your past visits to our website, as well as for data and behavioural measurement purposes. We have enabled the following Google Analytics Advertising Features. This enables Google Analytics to collect data about our website’s traffic via Google advertising cookies and identifiers, in addition to data collected through a standard Google Analytics implementation.
- Cross platform reporting
- Remarketing with Google Analytics
- Advertising reporting features
- Demographics and Interests reporting
- Integrated services that require Google Analytics to collect data for advertising purposes, including the collection of data via advertising cookies and identifiers
Users can opt-out of the collection and use of information for ad targeting. You can opt out of Google’s use of cookies by visiting Google’s Ads Settings, and also Analytics Opt Out. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page. For more information on the privacy practices of Google, please visit the Google Privacy & Terms web page: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en
Meta (Facebook & Instagram)
We use Meta Pixel (a tracking cookie) to enable us to display targeted ads to Facebook & Instagram users who have shown an interest in our website or in specific products or topics. Our aim in using Meta Pixel is also to ensure that our ads reflect the user’s potential interests and are not perceived as a nuisance. Meta Pixel enables us to determine the effectiveness of our ads and to obtain statistics on the number of users who reach our website by clicking on an ad.
The Meta Pixel is automatically integrated into any web page you visit; a cookie may also be placed on your end device. If you are logged in to Facebook/Instagram at that time or log in later on, your visit to our website will be stored in your Facebook/Instagram profile. The data collected is anonymised and does not allow us to determine your identity. However, Meta itself does store and process the data, and may therefore use it for its own advertising or market research purposes through the connection with your Facebook/Instagram profile.
The volume and processing of the data are defined in Meta’s Data Policy. Basic information about Meta ads is also available at: https://www.facebook.com/policy.php. You will find further information about Meta Pixel and how it works in Meta’s Business Help Center: https://www.facebook.com/business/help/651294705016616.
You can object to the collection of data by Meta Pixel and the use of your data to display Meta ads. To do this, visit the web page set up by Meta for this purpose and follow the instructions on settings for usage-based advertising: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=ads. All settings are platform-independent, i.e. they apply to all end devices (e.g. mobile or desktop devices). Further opt-out features for Facebook only – see “Off-Facebook activity”, help article here.
Social Networking Services
We use social networking services such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube to communicate with the public about our work. When you communicate with us using these services we may collect your personal information, but we only use it to help us to communicate with you and the public. The social networking service will also handle your personal information for its own purposes. These sites have their own privacy policies.
