GoShare Healthcare responsive content distribution platform
GoShare Healthcare, by RealTime Health, is a customisable responsive content distribution platform, which enables the efficient and measurable sharing of health resources, tailored to the needs of individual patients and carers.
Health professionals, HR managers and health promotion professionals can share a variety of information, including patient storytelling videos, fact sheets, explanatory animations, and links to relevant web pages. Health consumers receive an engaging content bundle that effectively communicates information specifically relevant to them, exactly when they need it. This valuable information empowers and motivates consumers to overcome the self-management challenges that a health condition presents. Consequently, GoShare Healthcare is a flexible tool that can support disease management programs, hospital readmission prevention programs, corporate health and well being programs, and the provision of information to patients by nurses at the bed, in a primary care setting, or in the community.
Security and privacy are of the highest concern to RealTime Health so Wave Digital developed the application to capture only the minimum user information necessary. Emails of bundled content sent to users are deleted immediately from the server following receipt by the user, to ensure no clinical data is stored.
Wave Digital were commissioned to build a responsive web content distribution platform, to securely and seamlessly distribute the many 1000's of pieces of content to 1000's of end users. It was a priority for RealTime Health to provide closed captions for all video-based content for the hearing impaired. With support from the Department of Business and Innovation, research and prototyping was undertaken to develop a proprietary closed-captioning system based on jPlayer, due to the lack of a commercially available plug and play system. This involved Web VTT integration proof of concept, assessing the feasibility and practicality of the Web VTT vs HTML5 solution, integrating Web VTT with video playback, implementing a cross-platform solution and developing a caption upload solution. This work has resulted in the availability of closed captions on all video content distributed to consumers via GoShare Healthcare.
